We
wrote a whole book about how Your
Money or Your Life transformed our life so we’re
not going to repeat what we said there on this page. We feel
compelled however to reiterate what a powerful tool the program
can be toward creating a simpler and more sustainable life.
Since Getting
a Life first came out in 1997, Your
Money or Your Life has been translated into all
the major world languages and in 1999 it came out in a new
English language edition. In 2001, a revised and enhanced
version of the original audio tape course with the voice of
Joe Dominguez, was released. The book has sold nearly a million
copies since first published in 1992.
We believe that Your Money or Your
Life continues to attract attention because of
its holistic approach toward money and life. It is not a “get
rich quick scheme.” Instead of “more is better”
it suggests we figure out what is “Enough.” Enough
money, Enough stuff, Enough time. It asks us to ask ourselves
what is really, really important and let go of the rest. It
asks us to clarify our values and life purpose and start behaving
in alignment with them. In doing so, we find that we spend
less, waste less and live simpler, more meaningful lives.
The beauty of Your Money or Your
Life is that it allows everyone to decide
what is right for them. You choose what stuff to keep in your
life and how much money is enough for you. There are no magic
formulas offered. The authors ask you only to be honest with
yourself. The nine steps provide a framework or roadmap for
moving through the process in a logical way.
If you haven’t taken a look at Your
Money or Your Life, we encourage you to do so
soon. It really works. For specific Your Money or Your
Life resources go to: www.yourmoneyoryourlife.org.
